Car crash man had heart attack
Friday 19th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
A 21-STONE man crashed his car into another after suffering a heart attack at the wheel, an inquest has heard.
David Le Warne (62) died from multiple injuries most likely to have been sustained as a result of the impact of the crash. Yesterday pathologist Dr Peter Southall said that Mr Le Warne had suffered an aneurism of the aorta and had fallen unconscious, causing him to veer onto the other side of the road and crash into a car travelling in the opposite direction. Dr Southall said that the post-mortem showed that Mr Le Warne’s heart was massively enlarged and that he was ‘not a well man’. When he died Mr Le Warne weighed 21 stone and had recently undergone a major coronary artery by-pass. His wife and family were present at the inquest.
