TRINITY went top of Coca-Cola Combination Division I for the first time this season following a sixth successive win in all competitions on Saturday.
A 4-1 home victory against the Portuguese Club lifted Joe Morley’s side a point clear of St Paul’s from a game played more.
John Beatson continued his good form by notching a brace, that’s ten for the season now, while Beatson’s brother John was also on target together with Jimmy Reilly who converted a penalty kick.
Gabby Marques replied.
Alex Jefferies scored the only goal at Le Boulivot earning Grouville their first points of the season in a 1-0 win against St Peter.
St Ouen won the top-of-the-table Division II match 2-0 against Sporting Academics to move three points clear at the top of the table.
On target were Lucas Parker and Scott Quarrell.
St John moved into third place following a 4-1 success against Jersey Nomads at the FB Fields where Rob Baker, Keiron Walker, Sean Ganly and a Nomads defender netted for the winners and Jonny Flanagan for the losers.
Beeches Old Boys kept a clean sheet for the fifth consecutive game with Dean Mills scoring the only goal for a 1-0 win against St Brelade at Les Quennevais.
Magpies and St Clement featured in a 3-3 draw at the Airport where Matt Pamplin (two) and Steve Cumming registered for the ‘Pies and Mark Anderson (two) and Adam Claxton for the Saints.
St Lawrence gained their first point of the season following a 1-1 home draw against St Martin/SCF/ Michael Hillsdon was on target for the hosts and Danny Kennedy for the visitors.
St Paul’s moved three points clear at the top of Division I Reserves following a 4-0 success at St Brelade where Stefan De Smit bagged a brace and Paul McGinness and Carl Heath singles.
St Peter moved out of bottom place after Leo Da Silva scored the only goal for a 1-0 victory at La Hague Manor against First Tower.
Jersey Scottish moved into mid-table after 4-1 win against St Ouen at Les Quennevais.
Former Muratti winger Ali Santos scored a hat-trick for the winners and former Jersey U18 captain Luke Watson a single.

Matt Rawlings grabbed another hat-trick to steer St Clement Reserves to a 3-2 win against Sporting Academics Reserves in a preliminary round Lady Bingham Trophy tie at St Clement.
David Nisbet bagged both St Martin/SCF’s goals in a 2-0 win at St John in the same competition.
In the quarter-finals, on Saturday 8 December, St Clement host Beeches while St Martin/SCF are also at home against St Lawrence.
St Ouen C booked a G4S Security Services Trophy last eight place at home to Rozel Rovers C on Saturday 15 December following a 3-2 success after extra time against Sporting Academics C at the IJ Bathe Field.
Phil Le Rossignol and Steve Howard scored for the victors whose other goal was an own goal.
Jersey Wanderers retained their 100 per cent record in Division C after returning 12-2 victors from St Martin/SCF, who lost 15-3 to Wanderers earlier in the season.
Ryan Poingdestre and Michael Quinn registered for the Saints and Jon Chapman (four), Scott Young (three), John Thwaites, Danny Moisan, Matthew Munns and father-and-son Ian and Craig Beeley for Wanderers.
Grouville remain second, five points behind Wanderers but with a game in hand, after James Begley and Ricci Cook were on target in a 2-1 success against the home team at St Peter.
Rab Campbell netted for the hosts.
JERSEY clubs won just one of the three inter-island cup matches played on Saturday afternoon with Rozel Rovers flying the flag by defeating Guernsey Sylvans at Le Couvent.
Roy Jeanne’s side, who twice came from behind, ended a run of three consecutive defeats with a 5-3 Wheway Cup quarter-final victory – seven of the goals coming in a 30-minute period during the second half.
Carl Scott scored a brace and Craig Le Sueur, Gary Jarvie and James O’Haire singles to take cup-holders Rozel into the last four of the competition where they will face St Paul’s or Jersey Scottish on a date yet to be decided.
Guernsey Belgraves won through to play Trinity, on a date to be fixed, after Matt Drillot’s deflected shot on Saturday gave Bels a 1-0 win at the Hockey Club against Jersey Wanderers.
Jersey’s St Paul’s suffered their second defeat in ten games after going down 1-0 away to Guernsey’s St Martin’s in a Jeremie Cup quarter-final, Jason Winch netting the only goal with 15 minutes remaining.
Just one Jersey club remain in the Jeremie Cup competition, Grouville, along with St Martin’s, holders Northerners and Belgraves.
