JERSEY Nomads manager Peter Herridge resigned following his club’s 4-1 Coca-Cola Combination Division II defeat by St John on Saturday afternoon.

Herridge says he has taken the team as far as he can and it’s time for someone else to take over the managerial reigns.

Herridge said: ‘I’ve had five great years with this club, when it was formed many thought we may be a one season wonder but we have proved otherwise and we’ve been successful reaching two Touzel Cup finals and winning one.

‘I’ve really enjoyed what the Nomads have achieved but it’s taking more and more of my time and coupled with being busy with work I cannot fully commit to it any more.

‘I’m not walking away entirely, the Club have offered me an honorary life presidency and I’m delighted to accept.’ Nomads president Paul O’Hara said: ‘We are deeply saddened that Pete has decided to resign but we understand his reasons.

‘He has put in an enormous amount of time for Jersey Nomads and we thank him for that.

‘We are delighted he has accepted the role of honorary life president as it will give him the opportunity to have a huge impact in the running of the Club as his opinions and input are still valued greatly.’ Nomads have announced a three-man selection committee of Adam Budworth, Paul O’Hara and Mark Herridge with Budworth overseeing it all.

Herridge will take the first team on match days and O’Hara the second team.
