Angels only, please
Tuesday 23rd October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
SPOOKY skeleton outfits and frightening phantom masks are being banned by a church group holding an alternative Halloween party next week.
They want to put Christianity back into a festival which they say has become a pagan event. The Jersey Association of Catholic Youth, in conjunction with the Youth St Vincent de St Paul Society, are holding an Angels and Saints party for children whose parents disagree with the modern concept of Halloween. Children will not be permitted to wear scary outfits and instead must dress up as angels or saints.
