Pupils hurt in bus incident
Tuesday 23rd October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
POLICE are investigating an incident in which Les Quennevais students suffered minor injuries and shock on their school bus.
Two children were sent to hospital for check-ups – one because of an existing collarbone fracture – but they were discharged. The female driver of the Connex bus failed to stop at the school on Friday morning and drove on to La Moye instead before braking suddenly. When the bus did arrive at the school, the driver failed to open the doors and the ‘frantic’ children piled out of the emergency exit instead. Connex are carrying out their own inquiry into the incident involving the driver who, it is believed, was not a regular on the school route from St Ouen and St Peter.
