Mansell stopped in his tracks
Wednesday 24th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
EX-FORMULA 1 champion Nigel Mansell has been told to stop work on his new 8 ft metal security fence.
The millionaire Jersey resident has breached conditions imposed by Planning at his landmark Beauport home. Mr Mansell told the JEP last month that he needed to put up the security fence to protect his family from break-ins and attacks by local thugs. And although Planning approved it in 2006, they say that he had not provided them with the information they required when work began at Beauport Battery last week. Planning assistant director Peter Le Gresley said that his department needed details of the colour, route and landscaping around the fence before work could start.
