Firm moves offshore to seek ‘new wave’
Friday 26th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
A UK-based firm that specialises in insolvency is opening in Jersey, in anticipation of a ‘new wave’ of restructuring.
It will be the first move offshore by Begbies Traynor Group, an AIM-listed company based in Manchester with 34 offices around the British Isles and with links to services in 70 countries through Begbies Global Network.
The Jersey office will be run by directors Adrian Rabet and Alan Roberts, both experienced insolvency practitioners and chartered accountants specialising in forensic accounting, fraud investigation and corporate intelligence.
Mr Rabet previously ran his own accounting and insolvency practice, Rabet & Co, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
He also has experience in trust management.
Mr Roberts was based at Begbies Traynor in Manchester but has worked as an insolvency practitioner in Guernsey.
At Begbies Traynor he was closely involved in the recent Accident Group liquidation which recovered substantial funds from third parties in various jurisdictions.
