Civil service not ruling the roost, says Walker

CIVIL servants are not ruling the roost and conspiracy theorists who say that they have power over ministers are wrong, according to the Chief Minister.
Senator Frank Walker and his chief executive, Bill Ogley, met the Corporate Services scrutiny panel to discuss the progress of the Chief Minister’s department. They were quizzed on the work of the Corporate Management Board (CMB), which is made up of the Island’s most senior civil servants, including Mr Ogley. Scrutiny Chairman Deputy Patrick Ryan asked the Chief Minister what power the board had, because there were ‘conspiracy theories’ that civil servants were running the Island.
