Canoeists rescued at Grève de Lecq
Monday 29th October 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
TWO canoeists had to be rescued after getting into difficulty off Grève de Lecq this weekend.
The alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon when the mother of one of the canoeists, who was watching from the shoreline, realised that the pair needed help. She contacted the Coastguard who in turn informed the Fire and Rescue Service. They dispatched their inshore rescue boat and the pair were brought back to shore safe and well. For more information about safety at sea, visit the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service website at www.fire.gov.je.
