Jersey fears confirmed as two points are docked over registration
Monday 29th October 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
AS had been expected, Jersey RFC have been deducted two London South Division II points for fielding an unregistered player in a match earlier this season.
The Rugby Football Union who say they did not receive the league registration of Rory Steel, seem to have taken some responsibility for a share of the administrational problem, or at least in not immediately spotting and informing the club of the error, as they have not docked points for the three s ubsequent appearances by the player.
Jersey are still top of the London South Divivion II table, with a two-point advantage and clear points difference, remaining one of the hot favourites for promotion having won their seventh match on Saturday to maintain a 100 per cent playing record.
