Jersey has ‘less to fear’ from credit crunch

A LEADING economic commentator says that Jersey will not escape the credit crunch, but we should be safer than the City.
Former Bank of England adviser Marian Bell believes that the Island’s financial institutions will have much less to fear than UK chains like Northern Rock, who are now looking at a takeover by Virgin after they hit funding difficulties in September.
