Jersey are edged out in China

JERSEY were beaten 3-2 by Nicaragua today at the World Team Table Tennis Championship in China and will now play off for positions 97-104.
Craig Gascoyne won two while Luke Walker came close, suffering a 3-2 defeat. Josh Band suffered two 3-0 defeats but took a lot from his last match, which could have gone either way.
Jersey will now play Liechtenstein later today with the chance of a best finish of 97th.
Guernsey again lost to Congo Brazzaville and will next play Macao in the play offs for positions 81-88.
