Tuesday 4th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
AN Isle of Man travel firm has taken over Channel Island firm Bellinghams.
All 18 staff will be kept on at the shops, which are Bellingham Troys at Red Houses, Troys in Bath Street, Bellingham Allens in Beresford Street and Bellingham R G Davies in Guernsey. New owners Online Regional Travel Group Ltd, part of Mann Link Travel and based in Douglas, already have a business in Guernsey, having taken over Wayfarers Travel there last year.
Chief executive Brian Kelly set up Mann Link in 1982 and it is now the largest travel group in the Isle of Man, employing 61 staff in all and with annual sales of £40 million.
‘With this acquisition we shall be the first independent travel group to provide a link between Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man,’ said Mr Kelly.
