Bergerac ‘grave’ ruled out of case
Wednesday 5th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
REPORTS that digging outside Haut de la Garenne could have been sparked by an old set for Bergerac have been ruled out by the police and a former series location manager.
Kevin Lewis – now a St Saviour No 2 Deputy, but formerly the production liaison and location manager for the 1980s detective series – says that only one pretend grave was dug on the site, and not in the area the police are looking in.
It was reported yesterday that graves dug for a scene in Bergerac could have triggered results from ground-penetrating radar in a field behind the former children’s home, where part of a child’s skull was found a week ago.
But Deputy Lewis, who worked for the show for the ten years it ran between 1981 and 1991, said there was no chance that the graves could be related to the search.
