Wednesday 5th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
LONDON Lionhearts I beat Convent 10-8 in the final of the Jersey Netball Open to win the trophy at Fort Regent on Sunday.
In the deciding match Lionhearts capitalised on Convent’s errors and forged a lead by getting the ball to their impeccable goal-shooter, who didn’t miss a shot.
They led 6-4 mid-way through the 12-minute game and although this increased to 8-4, Convent remained composed to pull back the deficit to two which was maintained to the final whistle.
Jackie Norman was dependable as goal-shooter while wing-attack Lynsey Pitman and centre Jacy Brown impressed with their agility to push the ball forward.
