Wanderers close in on title as St Brelade slip
Wednesday 5th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
JERSEY Wanderers moved a step
closer to retaining the under-18 Division I title on Sunday after they won and their nearest challengers were defeated,
Leaders Wanderers, who were 3-0 up, eventually won 3-2 against First Tower at the Hockey Club, while second-placed St Brelade failed to keep pace after they let slip a 1-0 advantage to lose 2-1 against St Paul’s at St Savour, where the hosts scored a late penalty through Tom Brennan.
The top two meet at the Hockey Club this weekend in a game St Brelade must win to have any chance of winning the championship for the first time in their history.
