Daffodils of hope in the Square
Monday 10th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
WELL over 200 Islanders attended a rally in the Royal Square on Saturday arranged to allow people to express solidarity with victims of alleged child abuse at Haut de la Garenne.
And a minute’s silence was observed with people clutching daffodils as a symbol of hope for a brighter future. Others wrote out their views and feelings on three message boards tied to trees in the square.
The biggest cheer from the audience at the 90-minute rally was prompted when former Health Minister Senator Stuart Syvret took the stage, with some people chanting ‘Go on, Chief Minister’.
