Clubs to decide if the price is right
Wednesday 12th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
ISLAND football clubs will vote on the Jersey Football Association’s proposed membership scheme – including an annual playing fee – at the end of this month.
The scheme has received support in principal from the JFA Council but Coca-Cola Combination clubs deferred its implementation at a recent meeting so that delegates can discuss matters further with their clubs.
All will now report back at the Combination’s management meeting on Friday 28 March with the JFA Council then voting on whether to accept the proposal on Monday 14 April.
Since the scheme was first raised in an effort to offset current annual JFA losses of £25,000 a season, two key and crucial aspects have changed.
