Halksworth fails to finish

JERSEYMAN Daniel Halksworth pushed himself so hard that he was forced to retire from the OCA Triathlon Oceania Championships in Wellington, New Zealand on Sunday.
Racing against a quality field of Australian and New Zealander elite triathletes, who were competing for the third spot at the Beijing Olympic Games, Halksworth did have the satisfaction of beating the race winner and runner-up in the swim section.
As well as competing against a strong field all the athletes had to battle against strong winds, evident by the fact that race officials had four different plans for the swim because the water was so rough.
