Investigation of officer goes on
Wednesday 12th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
A SERVING States police officer continues to be investigated for two decisions made relating to a child abuse inquiry.
The matter came to light during their current major inquiry into decades of alleged child abuse that is currently centred upon the former children’s home Haut de la Garenne.
Detectives from the South Yorkshire force were called in to conduct the inquiry into ‘internal matters’ relating to the States police.
However, neither the States police nor their colleagues from South Yorkshire, were willing to disclose either the sex or rank of the officer under investigation.
It is understood that the probe into the police officer’s decisions relate to cases active in the last couple of years.
