Scots win could be at heavy cost
Wednesday 12th March 2008, 12:00AM GMT.
JERSEY Scottish will meet St Paul’s in the Le Riche Cup final next Tuesday after defeating Division II St Ouen 2-0 at Springfield last night.
Scottish’s victory came at a heavy price, however, as under-18 Muratti captain Jack Boyle, who scored their opening goal, was sent off in time added on for stoppages after throwing a retaliatory punch at an opponent who had caught him in a tackle.
Boyle, who could now be suspended for the U18 Muratti in Guernsey on 30 March, scored the opening goal midway through the first half by despatching a 20-yard free kick into a top right hand corner.
Fellow junior Michael Weir made it 2-0 just after the hour when he deflected a Boyle shot to wrong-foot St Ouen goalkeeper Danny Caunce.
