Man found guilty of knife assault on firefighter

A MAN who claimed that he stabbed an off-duty firefighter in self-defence has been found guilty of grave and criminal assault.
After almost three hours of deliberation, a jury yesterday convicted John Glover of the crime by a majority of 11 to one.
The 39-year-old accused had argued that he stabbed Patrick Buckley in the stomach in self-defence on 22 October. The assault happened at Glover’s flat in St John.
