JERSEY’S Channel Blind Company Division I league snooker season has ended the same way as it started – with a century break.
Gary Britton finished the season off in style with a magnificent 123 against Mick Mahrer; it was his second ton of the season and eclipsed team-mate Aaron Canavan’s effort of 113 made on the opening night of the season.
Britton won his three matches for champions 147 CVS in a 7-2 win against the Mechanics, Britton therefore completing the league season with a 100 per record of 33 wins.
Canavan scored a 50 break in his 3-0 success against Rob Newton while Dave Snell was defeated 2-1 by Mechanics’ Guy Heys.
The divisional champions finished top of the averages too, Britton first, Canavan second with 28 wins out of 33 and Snell third with 20 wins out of 33.
United Services A increased their lead at the top of Lifeboat Cafe Division II to ten points from Tower A with three matches each remaining.
Steve Le Louarn and Chris Roscouet won their matches for Services, against Chris Corfield and Kenny Hounslea respectively while St Brelade’s Rob Sutherland stole a frame off Peter Canham by winning on the black ball while making a clearance 27.
Graeme Duhamel and Tony Venton were two-frame winners in Tower A’s 5-3 win against Tower C.
Lee Parker scored breaks of 27 and 21 in Vinchelez’s 6-2 win against Mechanics A in Division III.
