Dr Hezron now out of danger

PEACE and calm has been restored in Kenya following the deadly riots and violence following the disputed elections.

That is according to Jersey-educated doctor Hezron Mc’Obewa, whose return to his native country coincided with the political unrest between his own Luo tribe and the ruling tribe of the Kikuyu.

In a letter to his friends and supporters at the Jersey Charitable Trust for Commonwealth Students, Dr Mc’Obewa said: ‘Three hundred thousand people have been displaced and some of them are still staying behind my house in Kisumu in a building constructed last year for OGRA staff by a Jersey work party. They have nowhere to go and we have had to adjust to this emergency. Life has to go on.’

Dr Mc’Obewa, who was educated at Victoria College, returned to kenya last November having completed his training in the UK.
