Pub drinkers to face 11.30 pm deadline?

TIME could be called on late-night drinking and dining in Jersey in future.

Many restaurants, bars and nightclubs which currently open until the early hours of the morning could be forced to shut by 11.30 pm.

Solicitor John Bisson said that a recently delivered interpretation of the licensing laws could end decades of later closing times.

Mr Bisson, president of the Jersey Law Society, spoke about the implications of a legal opinion given by retiring Solicitor General Stephanie Nicolle that led some places not opening on Good Friday.
