200 yards from disaster
Tuesday 1st April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
A COUPLE from Kent who were in the Island for a hockey match at the weekend returned home to find that their estate was the site of Sunday’s fatal plane crash.
Tony and Jackie Kelleher live in Paddock Close, in Farnborough, in a house which is just 200 yards away from the one destroyed in a plane crash that killed five people.
They had been in the Island to umpire the hockey inter-insular, and only found out about the disaster when anxious relatives started
bombarding them with calls at Jersey Airport as they made their way home.
