Minister ‘did not listen’ to warnings over Les Ormes adventure playground, claims report
Wednesday 2nd April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
THE decision to approve an adventure playground next to Creepy Valley has been criticised by a St Brelade Deputy.
A report by Deputy Sean Power claims that the Environment Minister did not listen to warnings about the effect of development on endangered species when he approved the Les Ormes application in January.
It also claims that the application was rushed through the planning process. It was lodged, consulted on, and approved within eight weeks.
A report drawn up by officers from the Planning Department have concluded
that the application was dealt with in the correct way, however.
The playground, due to be opened this weekend, includes a 15-metre tower, zip wires and an obstacle course.
