Carden and Lidser still in Masters’ surf hunt in Peru
Thursday 3rd April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
CLAYTON Lidster won his repercharge heat yesterday to keep his hopes of re-entering the Masters competition at the World Masters Surfing Championship alive.
A solid first wave, for which he scored 6.83, put Lidster in a great position in his heat and lower scoring waves consolidated his place at the top. Lidster now progresses to the repercharge semi-final in the 35-40 years’ event being held in Punta Rocas, Peru.
Jersey’s other entry, Johnny Carden, is the first British surfer to reach the last eight. He will face competition from South Africa’s David Malherbe and Tahiti’s Luciani Pascal in the grandmasters (40-45 years) event later today.
