Syvret: I’ll step down in next three years

FORMER Health Minister Stuart Syvret is almost certain to step down from politics before his term of office is due to end in 2011.
But he intends to devote the rest of his time in the States to improving child protection measures, helping victims of historic abuse and also making it a crime for senior civil servants to lie to, or mislead, politicians.
And he has now ruled out any prospect of standing for the post of Chief Minister when a new House is formed at the end of this year.
