UK investigator to review Les Ormes

Thursday 3rd April 2008, 12:00AM BST.

THE decision to approve an adventure centre at Les Ormes – which opens this weekend – will be the subject of an official report by a UK investigator.

Environment Minister Freddie Cohen said that he would commission the report after criticisms of his department in a recently published report that he asked St Brelade Deputy and applications panel member Sean Power to write.

Deputy Power concluded that Planning had ‘rushed through’ the application for an adventure centre next to ‘Creepy Valley’.

He also said that the department had ignored advice by officers about the impact of the park on wildlife.

Senator Cohen said that bringing over a UK planning investigator would be the only way to make sure the report was independent, and allow the matter to be laid to rest.
