Roadworks on Victoria Avenue begin on Tuesday
Friday 4th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
MAJOR roadworks on one of the Island’s busiest roads begin on Tuesday and drivers are being urged to plan ahead.
Work to resurface Victoria Avenue is expected to last for ten weeks.
The road will be open for morning rush-hour traffic but there will be restrictions for traffic in the evening, when the westbound carriageway will be fully open but eastbound traffic will have a single lane.
During the evenings, westbound traffic will be restricted, while eastbound vehicles will be diverted at the Bel Royal bus cross-over onto the Inner Road as far as Rue du Galet.
Transport Minister Guy de Faye said that Victoria Avenue was in need of resurfacing.
