Rocket man is forced to sell up
Friday 4th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
ROCKET man Terry McDonald says that he has been forced to put his business up for sale because of the financial burden of guarding his rockets.
He has come up with a deal to unload the 125,000 rockets, which he has spent every night guarding at a secret location since August, and is waiting to hear back to see if it comes off.
In the meantime, he is selling Site Security Services the business he set up three years ago because he says he needs to make ends meet.
‘Money is getting tight. It is all the extra expenses of the petrol and the gas and everything that goes with being up there, away from home, so the only way to do it is to put the business up for sale,’ said Mr McDonald (58), a former policeman who had hoped to use the rockets to regain Jersey’s world record for a simultaneous rocket launch.
