Belgian forced workers honoured
Friday 11th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
A MEMORIAL plaque has been laid to honour the Belgian people who were forced workers here during the Occupation.
The plaque, which was laid by Adrian Kennedy from Kennedy and Hogan Stonemasons, has been placed at the Crematorium, alongside memorial plaques to Spanish, Russian, Polish, Jewish and French workers.
It has been funded by the family of former Belgian forced worker Emile Boydens. He is one of only two forced workers still living in the Island.
