Former officer jailed for sex crimes

A FORMER Vingtenier who sexually assaulted eight girls as young as 11 over a period of 19 years was jailed for two years by the Royal Court yesterday.

Roger Arthur Holland (42) pleaded guilty to three charges of indecent assault, but his sentence was also influenced by five other incidents which had been brought to light by Holland who wanted to ‘wipe the slate clean’.

He was due to be sentenced last month for three charges of sexual assault committed between 1988 and 2000 but the case was delayed at the last minute while police investigated the new incidents which took place between 1981 to 1998.

Holland, who currently lives in Northamptonshire, was brought back to Jersey in July 2007 after one of his victims contacted the police.
