ST OUEN won the Coca-Cola Combination Division II football title on Saturday following a 2-0 victory in the final match of the season away to St Clement.

Striker Joe Murphy scored both the visitors’ goals, helping them to the second piece of silverware this season after their JFA Willis Cup final win earlier in the season against Sporting Academics, whom they beat to the divisional title by just one point.

Reserves Division I champions St Paul’s completed their programme with a 1-1 draw at St Ouen, where Dale Parker was on target for the hosts.

St Peter stormed through to take second position after they walloped relegated St Brelade 10-4 at St Brelade. Gary Freeman (four), Aaron Parkinson (three), Mark Stewart, Peter Burley and Paul Dicker scored for St Peter and Kyle Hampshire (three) and Tim Geall for St Brelade.

Jersey Scottish won 1-0 at Le Boulivot against Grouville to secure their divisional status but First Tower’s 4-0 win against Rozel Rovers was in vain as they were relegated as a result of Scottish’s success.

Tower’s goalscorers were junior Kieran Lester, Ross Philpott and Steve McKenna, together with an own goal.

The Portuguese Club of Jersey were crowed Reserves Division II champions after they returned 7-1 winners from Trinity. Portuguese therefore completed a league and Lady Bingham Trophy silverware double after a hat-trick by Silvio Freitas, two goals from Robert Paciaeidi and singles by Vitor Antunes and Fabio Andrade.

Jersey Wanderers missed the opportunity to take the Division C championship to a play-off after they were held to a 3-3 draw by third-placed St Peter at Les Quennevais. Goals from Tony Salaun, Craig Beeley and Scott Young were not enough to prevent Grouville from retaining their crown. On target for St Peter were Rab Campbell, Gary Bateley and Jon Welsh.

Goals from Jason De Nobrega and Roberto Sousa took St Clement to a 2-1 home win against Rozel Rovers, while Sporting Academics collected their first win of the season, in their final match, 6-4 at the IJ Bathe Field against St Martin/SCF.

Ryan Poingdestre and Jordan Hawkins both scored twice for St Martin/SCF.
