HOME Affairs need almost £2m more cash to do their job in 2009, a Scrutiny panel has heard.
Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard said yesterday that she needed a budget of £47,046,000 next year to introduce a sex offenders register and a law that would make sexism and racism illegal.
The money, which is around ฃ1.9m more than her approved budget, would also be used to upgrade La Moye Prison.
Senator Kinnard was answering questions at a public hearing with Education and Home Affairs panel, who are looking at her proposed budget in the draft 2009 Business Plan.
