New Crabbe home for kart club?
Tuesday 15th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
AFTER nearly 14 years of searching, the Jersey Kart and Motor Club may have found a permanent home.
The club, which currently holds kart races at the loop road circuit at Sorel is close to submitting a planning application to build a new track at the former composting site at Crabbe in St Mary.
The ground, which was decontaminated in 2005, is next to Crabbe Farm and the rifle range. It is bordered on two sides by farm land with the nearest house, aside from the farm, around 370 metres away.
Club president Advocate Robin Troy said the club had investigated how to lessen the track’s impact, which would be surrounded by large sound absorbing bands.
