Wan for the money

THE highlight of Saturday’s race meeting at Les Landes was Mobus Wan’s success in the Jersey Guineas, while Vicki Lucas claimed the numerical honours with three winners at the meeting.

The feature race on the card was the Jersey Guineas, generously sponsored by the Hemmings family.

The race saw the Alyson Malzard-trained Mobus Wan lead from pillar to post, eventually winning by two lengths from Buckie Massa, with Flighty Fellow a further length back in third.

Once again, the five-year-old was given a fine ride by his pilot, Adam Jones, and never looked like being passed. Although Buckie Massa appeared to be narrowing the gap as they approached the winning post, the winner seemed to have plenty in hand, and this was his third consecutive win.
