Tragedy of a grieving father
Wednesday 16th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
THE grieving father of four-year-old Holly Deegan has hanged himself from a tree close to the cemetery where his daughter was buried.
Andrew Deegan was found by a member of the public, understood to be a woman, just before 8 am yesterday near the Belle Vue Cemetery in St Brelade.
The 29-year-old builder was blaming GPs and hospital staff for his daughter Holly’s death and had been fighting for an inquiry into what happened.
The devastated father, originally from Burnley in Lancashire, took his own life close to the cemetery, where his ‘little princess’ was buried last month.
A Home Office pathologist was due to fly into the Island today to carry out a post-mortem on his body.
