Winning start for Cann in Europeans

Jersey’s Elizabeth Cann today beat Germany’s Janet Koehler 21-15, 21-7 in the first round of the Individual European badminton championship and will play either Nathalie Descamps or Elina Vaisanen in the second round tomorrow.

Cann’s England team lost 3-0 to Denmark in the final of the European Mixed championships last night with Tracy Hallam, not Cann, playing in the ladies’ singles match.
