Blandin in seventh heaven in Nationals
Thursday 17th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
A STRONG performance resulted in seventh place for Jersey carriage driver Nicola Blandin in
the National Indoor Driving Championships in Bedfordshire.
At the Keysoe Equestional Centre, it was an impressive result considering that it was her pony’s first season of indoor events and they were up against some of the leading drivers in the country.
Representing the Wessex region, Blandin was driving her Welsh pony Carrwood Acclaim in the Open Pony class and they secured a good score for paces in the dressage phase.
This was followed by the event on a very tight cones course which required accurate driving and a good eye for timing, and to Blandin’s delight they achieved a clear round with just two time penalties.
