Guthrie (18) on for first full England netball cap at Coventry
Thursday 17th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
SERENA GUTHRIE became the Island’s first full international netballer as she stepped on court for England last night at the Coventry Skydome.
The 18-year-old former Le Rocquier pupil came on for the fourth quarter of England’s second test match against Malawi with her international career starting on the right note as England powered to a 2-0 series lead with a 56-40 victory.
Guthrie, who came on at centre, was thrilled to play in front of a sell-out crowd and said: ‘It’s fantastic to have made my international debut, and a big step from watching in the crowd to being out on court – I loved every minute of it.
