Jersey out for revenge

Friday 18th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.

JERSEY will be looking to break Guernsey’s hold on the basketball inter-insulars when they take on the Sarnian visitors at Fort Regent tomorrow.

Last year Guernsey won all four events but some were narrow victories for the Greens and Jersey will want to turn these in their favour this time round.

The men’s team, who before last year’s 64-51 defeat were sitting on a hat-trick of successes, have a new coach in Bob Gouzinis, who originates from Greece, and he is confident that the team will give it their all.

‘Our preparations have been going well since we started after Christmas and the level of the players is good with a mix of skill, experience and backgrounds,’ he said.
