New drive to encourage voters

A £30,000 voter registration drive will encourage as many people as possible to add their names to the electoral register ahead of this year’s elections.
All but six of the 53 seats in the States will be open at the end of the year because Constables have agreed to step down en masse to bring their elections together.
And with the minimum voting age dropping to 16, Privileges and Procedures Committee chairman Derek Gray said it was important to get as many names on the register as possible.
