Maletroit hits gold standard
Wednesday 23rd April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
EXPERIENCED Jersey gymnast Matt Maletroit won three gold medals at the British University Sports Association Championships in Newcastle at the weekend.
Maletroit, representing Cardiff University, took individual gold medals on the parallel bars and rings, posting personal best scores and placed fourth on the vault to take the overall Grade II three piece title.
The standard of the gymnastics was high with a number of Commonwealth and Great Britain squad gymnasts competing and Maletroit fought off competition from over forty other competitors in the men’s finals.
‘I’m very pleased with my performance, I think it must have been one of my best competitions to date,’ he said.
