Weir treble sinks Poles

SCOTLAND romped to a 7-1 victory over Poland in the Black Horse Local Community Championship football tournament at La Hague Manor last night.
Madeira-bound junior Michael Weir hit a hat-trick as the Scots played some excellent football to cross over leading 6-0.
Dougie Ross, Jason O’Prey, Jay Reid and Paul McGinness also netted for the Scots, who finished with ten after McGinness went off with a tight hamstring after the Scots had used their three substitutes.
Scotland joint manager Gordon Hamilton said: ‘It was a good team performance; I was well impressed. We played some great football and six of our goals came as a result of flowing football with some great movement and quick exchanging of passes.’
