Band claims Essex U18 title

DE LA SALLE College student Josh Band won his second UK table tennis title of the season last weekend at the Essex 4* Junior Open.

Fourteen-year-old Band followed up his under-15 win in Derby by taking the under-18 title at the Harlow Sports Centre. Both victories were in the band one sections, just one group below the main Open events.

A left-hander with deceptively quick reactions, Band powered his way past Thomas Dantzig (Middlesex), Igor Morais (Middlesex), Jack Cleminson (BATTS Team Peniel) and Michael Spiteri (Surrey) all by 3-0 margins at Harlow.
