A FORMER cattle breeder who is the oldest member of the RJAHS is backing moves to lift the bull semen importation ban.

John Rondel (95) is an honorary lifetime member of the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society and has added his support to the upcoming States proposition about a 220-year-old law.

Mr Rondel was an agent in the 60s for Paul Spann, an American trader who purchased Island cows for farms in the US.
