Friday 25th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
THREE Jersey riders competed at this month’s British Dressage winter championships at Hartpury arena, Gloucestershire, gaining creditable placings and scores for their performances.
Competing against some 30 able-bodied finalists, the most successful was national para dressage Olympic squad member, Simon Laurens who won the novice restricted class on Ocean Donjon.
Only aged seven, Donjon was one of the youngest horses in the competition and was making only his eighth appearance in an arena.
There was also success at the winter championships for Lorraine Allan with second and fifth places in the novice combined training (dressage and show jumping) with Power Boy and Master Rascal and a special award for the leading owner rider in the class.
The third Jersey representative was junior rider, Amy Schiessl who qualified for the novice restricted area final championships with her pony Brynithon Monarch.
