Weighbridge Park to be film festival base
Friday 25th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
AN international film festival will be the first event to be held at the new Weighbridge Park.
Branchage, which was officially launched at the Jersey Museum yesterday, will run from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 September and will feature a range of works, including an Oscar-winning film.
The 30 or so films that will be shown during the festival will not be chosen until a month or two before, as organisers are keen to hand-pick the most suitable and current films. During the festival, films will be shown in quirky venues around the Island, including the Magistrate’s Court, Jersey War Tunnels and the Opera House.
As part of Branchage there will also be a competition for local film-makers.
